Bottle House
As a guest at the Ellijay River House Bed & Breakfast you can experience our unique Bottle House where you might want to propose marriage (!), nurture a friendship, enjoy a quiet conversation over a glass of wine – or just spend time in a really cool place! The Bottle House is not open to the public and is not a wine cellar… you’ll have to see it to believe it!
Meet The Owners
Hello! We are Keith and Karen Kreager, owners and innkeepers of the Ellijay River House Bed & Breakfast. We met at the University of Central Florida in Orlando and married three years later. We have two wonderful daughters who are now married to terrific guys, and we have three delightful grandchildren! We settled in an Atlanta suburb and for more than 20 years cherished our adventures in the north Georgia mountains. In 2018, we sat in the River Street Tavern in downtown Ellijay talking about this house for sale. That same week we toured the home - with jaws gaping - and knew it would make a fabulous bed and breakfast. We said goodbye to the corporate world and headed to Ellijay!

Loved the Proximity to Downtown Ellijay
"This is one of the top places we have ever stayed!! From the beautiful rooms and bathrooms to the delicious breakfast, to the amazing innkeepers who greeted everyone by name - it was a fantastic visit to Ellijay. Walking distance to many restaurants and shops and a short drive to wineries, apple houses and Fort Mountain State Park. Ellijay River House will not disappoint! We loved the proximity of the Ellijay River House to downtown. We parked the car, left it the whole weekend and explored the shops and restaurants."

Girls Getaway Weekend!
"Prepare to be pampered! Karen and Keith are excellent hosts and provide a most welcoming visit. The home is beautiful with exquisite attention to detail. The rooms are beautifully decorated and the outdoor areas for relaxation are comfortable and inviting. We stayed in The Wildflower room for our girls weekend getaway. It is centrally located so you can walk anywhere in town. We will definitely be back. I might even bring my husband some time!" 😀

Do Yourself a Favor and Treat Yourself!
"We stayed here for 2 nights when my husband and I were looking at land. This was our first time at a Bed and Breakfast. Wow! What a great choice! Karen and Keith were so accommodating and kind. The room was very comfortable and the bathroom was so bright and cheerful. I started everyday with a smile on my face. Breakfast was amazing each day. The proprietors were so friendly and personable they made us feel like it was home. If ANYONE needs a place to stay in Ellijay, you could do no better than the Ellijay River House. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to a special experience at this place."

This Stay was Unforgetable
Look no further! If you are planning a trip to Ellijay, this is the place to stay. Style, comfort and southern hospitality at its best! We were greeted with a tour, cookies, and even a surprise freshly baked orange cake the second night of our stay. The property is beautiful and includes a wrap-around porch, several places to relax outside by the river, and two of the cutest pups. The owners considered every detail to make this a wonderful experience: a coffee station, a reading nook, and a front room where you could watch TV. I forgot my shower cap and they even thought of stocking a hair turban in the bathroom. This beautifully renovated 1920’s home is situated within walking distance of all of the neat shops that give Ellijay its charm. And the breakfast was so delicious and filling! Homemade biscuits, egg casseroles, waffles and fresh fruit. We even asked for the recipes which they made a few extra copies of so we could try them at home. Ellijay was cute, but this stay was unforgettable.
